We appreciate the kind words expressed by those who have come to Terry’s Restaurant + Lounge to enjoy fine wine, live music, great food! Some of our favorites … below.
This is a place of classic Carmel charm for both locals and visitors. The Lounge is replete with posters of Doris, old Doris Day movies, and, of course, real dogs in all sizes. The bartenders are craftsmen of their art. The food is delicious, especially the Doris Day chicken salad. Whether you choose indoors or out, there is always something or someone to see.

Almost don’t want to advertise, but John behind the bar deserves a gold medal. Exceptional service and palate. Order one you know and put yourself in his hands for the 2nd round.

My husband & I had such a wonderful time at Terry’s Lounge over the weekend. We went there Saturday & Sunday nights. Great drinks & really cool bar menu.
Saturday night we were served by a gentleman with an English accent. He was such a nice guy & a pleasant conversationalist. Sunday, Jon was our guy & he was great! Can’t wait to go back.

Stopped over for a quick pre-dinner drink. Had delicious glass of wine and perfectly sized and wonderfully tasting hummus plate. I loved all the dogs … had a great waitress too!!! I will def swing back through when I can.

How fantastic that you can bring your dog inside the Cypress Inn and sit with them in the bar/lounge area. The lounge has great atmosphere along with a TV. Service was great even on a busy weekend during the peak tourist season. There is a lounge with live performances and a lovely outdoor patio. I just wish they had a better wine selection that was less focused on wines from the Monterey area, but I appreciate their trying to keep things local.

We came here mainly because our daughter is an enormous fan of Doris Day. The reviews, especially on other sites, had supported the idea of eating here. We arrived around 5:15 on a Monday, chose to eat in the dog-free bar area.
The atmosphere was lovely, subdued lighting, linens, bubbly or flat water was offered.
David was our awesome server. We ordered the Cypress burger with garlic fries, and the short ribs along with a zombie.
Well, let me begin by saying the burger was delicious, fries were about as perfectly fried as possible, a nice crunch, but not burnt, wow! The garlic was off of the charts marvelous! If we had come and both gotten burgers, we would have left a 5 star review, and left perfectly happy, full and feeling like we had gotten a great meal.

What a charming place! We were looking for a restaurant where we could bring our dog and not have to settle for subpar food. We were seated on the patio which was delightful. Beautiful plants, fireplace, white tablecloths. Our waiter was friendly, patient, and professional. The food was delicious. We ordered appetizers from the bar menu which we enjoyed immensely. Artichokes, short rib sliders, lamb meatballs. Had the
Filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. The prices were downright reasonable which is not usually the case in Carmel. And everyone eating on the patio was a dog lover! Old and young, everyone seemed to be chatting with one another and petting each other’s dogs. It was a really enjoyable evening. I highly recommend Terry’s!!

Love this lounge!!
We came in after walking downtown Carmel and spotting all of the wonderful dogs. I have a love for all things Doris Day, so the decor with all her movie posters, the charm of the hotel, and the 4 legged friends running around was really so fun to hang out in.
We had a great time at the bar, eating sweet potato fries and drinking old fashion’s. Jon our bartender took good care of us.
Can’t wait to be back, hopefully next time to stay in the hotel.
